Research suggests a correlation between knowledge of the courts and confidence in government. With that in mind, the Center strives to enhance New Yorkers’ understanding of how courts work, to show the impact courts have on people's lives, and to ensure the availability of basic information to help New Yorkers who appear in court understand proceedings.
Drug Court: Personal Stories: in this book, drug court graduates and staff from across New York State recount the travails and triumphs of the addicts who have pulled their lives together. A companion curriculum is provided to help schools educate youth about the important work of drug courts and to promote student literacy of the justice system.
